The most difficult part of this project was coming up with plans to do the build. So few people have made one before so there wasn't a lot of references to go off of. After spending nearly a month researching craps tables on-line we eventually made our own design for the table. It started with the craps layout itself and using the dimensions from that the rest of the table dimensions were estimated. From the estimates we built a 3D model for the final plan dimensions.
Since the table is so large we wanted to make sure that it could be moved and stored. Like many of the store bought tables this one was built in multiple sections that all fit together with pegs and a few screws. It breaks down as follows: four walls, the layout board, the base board and then the legs which can also be broken down into 4 parts.
To keep it as authentic as possible pyramid shaped rubber bumpers were installed on the end walls and a mirror was placed on the longer length of the table.
Build your own craps table to fit your space and style. Plans are available for purchase through Etsy and include dimensions and illustrations for this table in five different sizes or get the complete collection. Start your build today.
